Meaningful Impact Doesn't Require a Seat
Strong communities are shaped by engaged owners and Boards alike.
Board Vacancy Filling Process
At the April 20, 2026 Board meeting, the Board decided:
The two Board seats previously held by D. Shay (permanent) and B. Drawbert (unimproved/second homeowner), both expiring in December 2026, will be filled by a vote of the membership at the October 2026 Annual Meeting.
The seat previously held by R. LaCerra (permanent), which expires in 2027, will be filled by Board appointment as outlined in Bylaws. The Board will solicit candidates from the community via submitted Board applications which can be accessed here. The Board will discuss the submissions at the open June Board Meeting and expects to make the appointment at that meeting. Note: There is no May Board Meeting due to the Town Hall on Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 am.

Over the past year, there’s been a lot of conversation about where meaningful impact happens. While some have suggested advocacy only carries weight from an official position, I believe it effectively happens both on and off the Board. Regardless, my current stage of life allows time to step forward in a capacity both as an owner and/or potential future Board member.
I’ve applied for the Board vacancy outlined in #2.
For those that mistakenly think I’m just “a mom,” I’m grateful for the professional and personal life experiences that have shaped my perspective, including motherhood. Whether I serve on the Board or not, I look forward to continuing to contribute and advocate, regardless of what role I hold.
I appreciate that my Biography and Priorities Statement were posted on the POA website shortly after being submitted. Having bios shared in their unedited and original form—and knowing who has applied in real time—is incredibly helpful. I hope that practice continues in future elections. And, I hope to see additional candidates step forward.

Kathy and I are pulling for you and hope you gain a seat and voice on the Board. Skylake needs someone with your knowledge and attention to detail to avoid many of the issues we have faced over the past year.
Hurray!!!!
